The CIVITAS initiative co-funded by the European Union and its participating cities aims to promote sustainable, clean and energy-efficient urban transport by implementing and evaluating an ambitious, integrated set of technology and policy-based measures. Initially formed by five national and regional capitals (Graz, Stockholm, Lille, Pécs and Prague), the initiative now includes 60 agglomerations spread over all 27 EU member states. The website describes the different projects organized by the demonstration cities since 2001 and focuses on the urban mobility issues each one faces. The site is a comprehensive and regularly updated catalogue of “Europe on the move”, both literally and figuratively!
